Fall is upon us, and there is no better time of the year. The trees are listening in their colors of radiance, and they never fail to catch your eye.
How can one decorate their living space to reflect the beauty from outdoors? Here are a few tips on turning your living space into a fall paradise.
Fall house decoration with color
Think Fall colors; yellows, greens, golds, browns, reds, and oranges. These colors scream fall. You are not going to have a room that gives you the season feeling if you are still seeing colors such as hot pink, blue or other bright colors. Muted, neutral colors are perfect for fall.
If you have brightly colored curtains consider changing them out for a muted version of the colors mentioned above. This will help in aiding the atmosphere you are trying to achieve. (I’m not great about cleaning my curtains often, so switching them out seasonally is a great reminder to do so)
When looking for curtains, you can even look for those with leaf prints, they can look beautiful especially when paired with a solid. This is an easy fall house decoration change that makes a dramatic effect.
Use throw pillows
Maybe they will be just decorative, but throw pillows make a huge difference in home decor. After all, there a memes upon memes about how much wives love useless throw pillows.
A sofa without throw pillows is just crying out for some decoration. While you’re at it, drape a fall blanket across the arm of the couch as well. This will add a punch of color to any room.
Play with texture in this area, and do not feel the need that all pillows have to match, rather they should coordinate. Use different patterns and textures here, with the right touches you can achieve a very cozy, happy feeling.
Add pumpkin decor
Everyone loves pumpkins, right? Try placing an arrangement of them in a corner where they will get maximum attention. You can try layering them on a shelf, to height and dimension.
If you purchase the artificial ones, you can find them in a variety of shapes and sizes. They even make them in different materials, such as plastic and wicker, or textures like velvet and burlap.
Add some scented candles
Candles add a soft touch to any room. They are best grouped in threes. Consider placing a decorative ribbon around the shaft of the candle to add texture. This will also allow you to buy a cheaper candle, and upgrade it for a low price.
Add throw blankets to the room
Blankets are a sign of the cooler weather. Besides, blankets bring that cozy vibe we are trying to achieve.
These were mentioned above slung over the arm of the couch. Other places to use them are in baskets around the room or under a console table, or maybe over the arm of a chair.
Use autumn leaves
There’s really no decoration cheaper than something you can get outside for free, after all. Using leaves you can make a wreath by combining them with other things from outside, or a brilliant DIY fall centerpiece by adding pinecones or branches and putting it all together in a fancy basket.
Best of all, they’re easy to dispose of in the winter, and since you didn’t spend any money to get them, you won’t feel bad about it all!
One thing to keep in mind when taking leaves from outside, however, is to make sure that you’re not bringing insects or anything in your house. You can always opt for artificial leaves that you can use year after year.
Fall house decoration with pumpkins and gourds
Things like pumpkins and gourds are easily one of the most thought-of decorations for the Fall season, and one of the most easily-utilized.
Best of all, pumpkins and gourds can usually be bought for quite cheap at the supermarket or farmer’s market, and they make a lovely decoration for all parts of your house.
Purchase small ones to put on your mantles and side tables, and then some larger ones to put nearby doorways.
Hang autumn wreathes
Wreaths can be made and look great in every season, but there’s no better way to welcome in your guests for the fall than to hang a beautiful autumn wreath on your front door.
You can purchase them pre-made at department or garden stores for a moderate price, or, even better, you can make your own!
The most common sort of wreath is made with grapevines, dried corn, pinecones, leaves, and other kinds of autumn plants, and these things can easily be assembled with a bit of hot glue.
Use dried corn
Dried corn is a fairly cheap decoration for your home that you can buy at many department stores or supermarkets. Hang it on your doors or use it in a centerpiece for maximum effect. I like to place dried cornstalks in bunches on either side of my doorway. You can also place it in a basket with some mini gourds and pumpkins for a fun centerpiece.
